There is a new law in Virginia that will ban Motorcycle Club Colors in Bars. The law, originally aimed at Street Gangs, is causing quite a stir with Virginia Bikers. The law states that Bar & Restaurant owners will lose their liquor license if they allow patrons who wear “gang” related attire such as Club Logo’s or Colored Bandannas.

These sort of “grey area” laws are extremely dangerous and a threat to everyone’s freedom. Who decides what constitutes “Gang Apparel”? I’m wondering if Boy Scouts are going to be able to eat together at Applebees if they are in their uniforms.

According to news reports, many Bikers and Motorcycle Club Members in Virginia have already begun fighting this law. If a law like this is allowed to stand in Virginia, it won’t be long until it is passed in other states across America!

We as Motorcyclists and Bikers (It does not matter what you call yourself) have to realize fast that we are all connected. It doesn’t matter what you ride, what State you live in or who you Support, we’re all in this together. What effects Me effects you and it doesn’t matter what you happen to think of me.

When the local Bar you and your Brothers love hanging out at is told that you and all other members of Motorcycle Clubs can no longer go there or they will revoke the Bars liquor license, What then?

This is no Joke my Biker Brothers, every month there is another new law that is aimed not only Motorcycle Club Members, but all Americans. It seems that every time the Government wants to take away a freedom, they find a way to craft a new law for our “safety”. What kind of Country is this turning into when you can’t wear what you want and suddenly, your constitutional right to assemble is taken away from you?

Although there are many ignorant people out there that believe Motorcycle Clubs are Gangs, that’s simply not the case. Most Motorcycle Clubs are made up of hard working, honest, law abiding, patriotic, American Citizens who enjoy a common bond, Motorcycles. It’s what is in a persons heart that determines who they are, not the clothes they wear.

In the past year the government has taken away the Colors of one Motorcycle Club. A law enforcement officer can demand anyone sporting the Clubs logo to forfeit it. The theory is that the loss of the logo strips the club of its “gang identity.”

Grant it, it appears that some of the Clubs members may have been involved in illegal activities, but that doesn’t mean that everyone who rides a Motorcycle should be punished for it. In fact, less than 10% of this 600 Member Club was even accused of wrong doing.

In addition, the Government and law enforcement agencies have been spending millions of our dollars to influence friends and ex-members of Motorcycle Clubs in an effort to infiltrate these clubs in hopes of catching members doing something illegal. Often, when they find that the Club they’ve infiltrated is nothing more than a group of Patriotic, Law Abiding Men & Women, they’ll fabric wrong doing so that they can justify the enormous amount of resources spent on these Fishing Expeditions.

Just imagine how much better off we’d all be if they used those resources to investigate the Corrupt Politicians, the Corporations that control our Country, Wall Street, and the other issues that are quickly sinking this great Nation.

What I want to know is, what will be the last straw? What’s it going to take for us to say enough is enough? We can not fight these Laws and Fight each other at the same time! We need to work together to save what we are, who we are.

The Government has taken away our rights to ride the Motorcycle we want, to wear what we want and now to go where we want! Why are we still fighting each other? When are we going to wake up??

Bengals Make Short Work of Bears

Posted by Ross Everett in Sports

Former Chicago Bears running back Cedric Benson got revenge on the team that let him go in the best possible way. Benson amassed 189 yards rushing and led his new team, the Cincinnati Bengals, to a 45-10 rout over the visiting Bears on Sunday. Carson Palmer threw for five touchdowns with no interceptions in the blowout victory.

The Bengals also made short work of the NFL pointspread, easily covering as +1′ home underdogs. Cincinnati improved to 4-3 against the number while Chicago evened their ATS mark at 3-3.

A happy Benson described his feelings after the win:

“Everybody knew it was going to be an emotional day. Everybody knew. What a wonderful day and a wonderful thing, to go out there and strut your stuff.”

Despite the evidence to the contrary, Benson downplayed the motive of revenge:

“I continue to be as graceful as I can be. I’m not shoving anything in anybody’s face. Like I say, it wasn’t a revenge day for me. I just wanted to take advantage of the opportunities.”

He said his biggest problem was trying to keep his emotions in check:

“There were a few times where I may have gotten a little too hyped up, a little too antsy. A couple of drives, I found myself having to calm myself down and gather my emotions to stay poised. Once I got past that, we were good to go. Keep it rolling.”

Bengals’ receiver Chad Ochocinco had 10 catches for 118 yards and two touchdowns. He shared his thoughts postgame:

“I don’t understand why it went this way today and why it didn’t go that way last week or the week before that. The offensive line played unbelievable. For Ced to run the way he did today and for us to be able to throw, we could have done what we wanted to do.”

Chicago gave up more points than in any game all season, a fact that left defensive end Alex Brown looking for answers:

“That was pretty embarrassing. It’s embarrassing to come out and play like that. I tip my hat to their whole team. Cedric ran the ball like crazy. They did whatever they wanted to do.”

The Bengals will enjoy a bye week before hosting the Baltimore Ravens on November 8. They’ll then play two games on the road at Pittsburgh and Oakland. Chicago will try to get back on track this Sunday as they host the Cleveland Browns. The Bears are -13′ home favorites with the total set at 40.

Steelers End Vikings Undefeated Run

Posted by Ross Everett in Sports

Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings are undefeated no more. The Pittsburgh Steelers’ used a couple of big plays from their defense in the fourth quarter to break open a close game and defeat the Vikings by a final score of 27-17. Favre put up decent yardage in the loss, throwing for 334 yards but had no touchdowns and an interception. The defending Superbowl Champion Steelers improved to 5-2, while the Vikings are now 6-1.

NFL pointspread players who backed the Steelers as -6 home favorites were rewarded with the cover. Pittsburgh had only covered one of their first six games heading into the contest, and the win improved their record against the number to 2-5. Minnesota dropped to 4-3 against the spread with the setback. The 44 points scored went UNDER the posted total of 46′. It was only the Vikings’ second UNDER of the season against five OVERS, while the Steelers have gone OVER in four of their seven games.

The Steelers largely shut down Minnesota’s rushing game, holding Adrian Peterson to 69 yards. Pittsburgh safety Ryan Clark underscored his team’s dominance against the run:

“That’s the biggest point of the game. You have the best running back in the world and you don’t give it to him. They’re saying they can’t beat us running, and that’s a major statement when you have the guy they have back there.”

Favre gave a mealy mouthed justification for the loss in his postgame interview:

“There were a lot of what ifs, a lot of reasons we didn’t win. The red zone was one of them. They’re physical, and they were as good as we thought they’d be. … When I came here and looked at our schedule and saw the Steelers game, I went, ‘Oh-h-h.’ ”

Favre has only thrown three interceptions in a Vikings’ uniform, but #3 was a costly one as it was returned by Steelers’ Keyaron Fox for a touchdown to put the game out of reach as Minnesota was driving for a potential game tying field goal. Afterwards, Fox recalled the play:

“Brett tried to force it in there and the running back bobbled it and slipped out of his hands and it fell into my lap. I had just run across the field after Peterson and I was winded, so it felt like it was 100-plus yards.”

The Vikings now face another big game next week as they head to Favre’s old stomping grounds in Green Bay for a battle with the Packers. It’ll be Favre’s first appearance at his old home in an enemy uniform. The Vikings are a +3 road underdog with the total set at 48. The Vikings will then have a bye weekend before hosting the lowly Detroit Lions on November 15. Pittsburgh will enjoy a bye week this week before returning to action on Monday, November 9th facing the Denver Broncos on the road.

Bullets are, by far, the most common type of ammunition. Their calibers range from .17 up to .50 for modern small arms. BB guns and airguns use a .177 caliber bullet. One of the most popular calibers in use in the U.S. is the 38 Special Ammo. This is actually a .357 caliber bullet despite its name (the .38″ refers to the approximate diameter of the loaded brass case). Because this ammunition works in 357 revolvers, more shooters are opting for it due to the cost savings and reduced recoil (in Europe it is known by its metric designation 929mmR).

Did you know that people from quite varied walks in life are interested in ammunition – from bear hunters to full-time experts in ballistics, forensics, metallurgy, chemistry, and manufacturing disciplines. Obviously, there’s the current and former law enforcement and military professionals. On the more passive side are historians (particularly of the Civil War) and hobbyists interested in the ammunition’s evolution over time, and the surprising variety of ingenious designs that have been tried.

Building a collection of militaria and weaponry is some people’s hobby, rather than them being active shooters or hunters. Since the close of World War II the United States has imported and sold a large number of surplus military rifles. As the various militaries, especially in the smaller nations, clean out their stocks of outdated and obsolete rifles, some are imported for sale into the U.S. from time to time.

Hunters favor a range of rifles with the New England Firearms Handi-Rifle being one of the most popular (though it can be hard to source due to that popularity). New rifles can be quite expensive and it’s worth your time to check if there are used firearms for sale either in your local gun stores or online.

Traditionally, when you wanted to buy ammunition, you’d visit your local gun store. Nowadays, of course you can get ammo for sale online. But you need to be sure you know what it is you’re looking for. Searching for the cheapest ammo online isn’t all that’s involved. Other factors should be taken into consideration so you’re certain you’ll get precisely what you require – the type of ammo you require is determined by what you intend to hunt or shoot.

You also need to consider how much ammunition you require. Locate a source, such as military surplus ammunition, where you can get replacement stocks easliy of the same ammunition so you don’t end up switching ammunition and having to head down to the shooting range to sight in the new ammo. Zeroing in a rifle takes time and ammunition isn’t that cheap, even if you’re buying surplus ammo. So save yourself some heartache.

Military surplus ammunition is, essentially, the ammo that the armed forces (Army, Navy. Marine Corps) have surplus to requirements. In the past, it also included ammo that soldiers took home with them when they were discharged, and then later sold. These days, such things are more rigorously controlled and ammunition and weapons must be returned before a soldier leaves military life. Military surplus ammunition is one of the most sought after types of ammo simply because the savings in cost are usually pretty substantial when compared to the prices offered by hunting and outdoor speciality stores and other more generic big stores.

Surplus ammunition can come from outside the U.S. as well as from within it. An example that is the 7.62×39mm rifle cartridge which was designed during Second World Warand first used in the SKS carbine by the Soviet Union.

Do a bit of research online when checking out rifle and ammunition prices and availablility and don’t forget that the cheapest solution isn’t always the best. Doing the research will save you money and time in the long run.

Myths of Mixed Martial Arts

Posted by Bobbie McKee in Sports

For those who have no idea what mixed martial arts is, this is an introduction. Before you believe what other people who keeps on talking about MMA like it’s a brutal and violent sport, analyze first if they really know something about the sport or are they just formulating their own idea of the competition. Mixed martial arts is not what you entirely think it is. That is, if you’re just new. Failing to recognize that there is more to hearsay, some of the myths and unresolved questions will be further tackled.

Myth 1: It’s a dangerous game.

First, it is not a merely a game but a sport. It is actually the sport exhibiting different kinds of martial arts skill not mentioned in other combat sports. It is a collection of arts meant for participants to use in order to win a match and not a way to see people spill their own blood on the arena while someone on the dominant spot strikes the person helplessly. Second, danger shadows any kind of competition. It is the end-part of those who were not properly informed and trained.

Whenever a player enters the Octagon looking prepared to fight a thousand wars, he enters carrying precaution and care from the organizers of the event. Before the event starts, people in authority do random health checks like conducting pre and post fight magnetic resonance imaging to every player just to ensure that they are in perfect condition otherwise if the fighter fails to pass the check-up, he or she has to fight some other time. Organizations involved in checking the health of the participants make certain that they go up the arena in perfect shape with the absence of any kind of injury.

Myth 2: Boxing is safer than MMA.

This is absolutely incorrect. To prove, since its inauguration in the US, serious injuries or deaths were not listed under its existence most especially under the supervision of those who are sanctioned to organize the event. Compared to MMA, boxers tend to sustain repeated strikes on the head and the abdomen until the fight reaches the fifteenth round. While in MMA, the bout would only last for about three to five rounds and is usually done on a mat.

Myth 3: MMA is uncontrolled and unregulated.

Regardless of what you might have heard, MMA is considered as one of the most controlled and regulated sports revolving around the globe. Using time limits, mandatory judges, 5 weight classes set of rounds, and more than thirty existing and governing rules, it is only just to point out how the organizations concerned with the event exert effort in keeping the competition as safe as possible, following the highest standards of safety.

Myth 4: Street fighters and not professionals.

From the word martial arts, one can formulate that MMA is a kind of match that involves different disciplines and arts. MMA holds some of the best martial artists in the world. Before entering MMA, some of its participants are college students or Olympic champions. In order to stay as competitive as the other sports, the athletes of mixed martial arts are required to enter trainings of martial arts varieties to be able to learn further disciplines like boxing, judo, jiu-jitsu, wrestling and karate.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship organizers proudly introduce their athletes having college degrees for people to realize that in order to enter the fight, one must first prove themselves academically.

Gymnasiums are a great place to gather for sports, free play, and to cheer on your favorite team. When it comes to basketball, it feels like that is what gyms were made for. If you are responsible for choosing a basketball hoop for your gymnasium, there are some important features to consider depending on who will be playing and what type of versatility you need.

If your players will be high school age and above, you can go all out with a high school and NCAA regulation hoop. Regulation specifics include a rim that is 18″ in diameter and 10 feet high. Regulation also states that backboards must be 72″ x 42″. Glass backboards are used for most high schools, colleges, and in the NBA. You can purchase glass backboards that are guaranteed to be unbreakable during play.

For a high school and above level rim, a competition breakaway goal is the ideal choice. When attached to a regulation size glass backboard, you will have the ultimate playing experience. Players will appreciate having the opportunity to play in a gym with this type of equipment. This combination is great for aggressive play.

If your players will be junior high age, you may want to consider some different type of equipment. An acrylic or steel backboard is great for this age. It still gives players all the space and rebound quality they need, while being economical. Sticking with a 42″ x 72″ regulation size backboard is a good idea. Junior high is a great age to learn the skills necessary to become a team player in high school. Having a regulation size backboard can give kids the confidence they need to be successful.

If you are purchasing a basketball hoop for a gymnasium that will be used by elementary age kids, an adjustable height hoop is the best choice. From ages 5-11 kids do a lot of growing and changing. Coordination is still being developed and height varies drastically from the littlest to the biggest. To have the versatility you need to accommodate growing kids, an adjustable height hoop is needed.

Most adjustable hoops can be moved from 6′ to 10′ in 1/2″ increments. Trying to teach kids to play on a hoop that is too high will make them feel defeated. An adjustable hoop lets the littlest and the biggest elementary age children participate. The size of the backboard is not as important at this age, since they are working on the most basic skills.

No matter what age player will be playing in your gymnasium, you may have space issues. If you are purchasing a basketball hoop for a gym that will be used for other sports, a fold-up basketball hoop is the choice for you. These types of hoops can be folded to the side or up when needed. This will give your gym the versatility it needs to accommodate other sports.

Purchasing a basketball hoop and goal for a gymnasium is a big responsibility. But by considering who will be playing and what type of room is available, you can make a purchase that will provide years of fun competition.

The river cruise has become a very trendy kind of vacation today, and especially so on the Mississippi. Whether it is just for a short few hours, for a week or even a month, a boat cruise can be a very exhilarating as well as tranquil holiday.

A Mississippi cruise can be of many kinds, depending upon the chic, the size of the vessel, the number of passengers, the theme, the cost and the length. The most common distinctions are the deluxe cruises vs. budget cruises, nature vs. city cruises, steamboat vs. modern boat, and the kind (honeymoon, historical, senior, singles, etc).

There are indeed a lot of options for the discerning traveler looking for a Mississippi cruise. The river, which runs from Minnesota to Louisiana, is the second longest in the United States and also the fifth longest in the world.

The ship that you would be traveling on could be a historical steamboat, just like in the glory days of the nineteenth century, or it could be a recently built steamboat that had all the modern comforts fitted in from the start.

Possible activities on a Mississippi cruise range from the most obvious, such as going to places of interest in the local cities and other sights, and tasting the local cuisine, to the more special, such as learning to play an instrument the Bluegrass way while gliding ahead on the river.

Mississippi cruises are also a great place to hold events. If you need to organize a business meeting, a conference, or even a marriage, why not rent a Mississippi river boat for a few days and hold the event there? The participants will be delighted.

Sometimes, entire cruises are dedicated to a single event, often with lectures or reenactments aboard. For instance, there are some that concentrate on Civil War events near the river, others looking at the history of steamboats, and also events that relate to the passengers, such as floating veterans’ reunions.

Also, there are a lot of different ports of call on the river, and your departure point will have an influence on the kind of trip and experience. There are also the options of taking one-way or round trip cruises. The latter are especially common the shorter Mississippi cruises.

The outlay for a Mississippi cruise can vary a lot, depending on some obvious factors such as the length of the cruise and the level of comfort, but also on the position of the cabin relative to the ship, and on the extras that are part of the package.

The Internet has a wealth of information and tips on how to find the perfect river voyage for you. Once you have all the information you need, you will find a wealth of options at travel agencies, either online or directly at the agents’ or cruise lines’ offices.

You remember the beauty of the last national park you visited, and you’d like to share the experience. Unfortunately, you also remember the crowds outnumbered the wildlife. Fear not. These 6 lesser-known destinations let you have the best of both worlds:

1. Arches. This gem can be found in the southern landscape of Utah. It’s best known for its stunning sandstone arches, two of which are Delicate Arch and Landscape Arch, the park’s largest. Because of the sheer beauty the park has to offer, along with the landscape, hiking remains the most popular activity.

2. Badlands. South Dakota’s Badlands National Park is truly a marvel of nature. Amid the wandering bighorn sheep and bison, you’ll notice the vast prairies along with the buttes and canyons. It truly does feel like two parks (or three) in one.

3. Big Bend National Park. This is truly the park for the water enthusiast. Located in western Texas, river rafting on the Rio Grande is a popular attraction. Canoeing and kayaking are perfect ways to take in the breathtaking views. The park, situated on more than 3/4 of a million acres, got its name because of the very large bend in the river.

4. Biscayne. The uniqueness of Biscayne is the fact that you can really only get there by boat. Located about 25 miles from Miami, you can enjoy activities such as hiking, camping, and fishing that the 40+ keys have to offer. If viewing marine life is your thing, the crystal clear waters make it a snap to observe the many stingrays, small sharks, fish, and turtles you are likely to encounter.

5. Cape Breton Highlands. Located in Nova Scotia, Canada, Cape Breton was once home to Alexander Graham Bell. The uniqueness of Cape Breton is its accessibility all year long, whether its frolicking on the beach in summer, skiing in winter, or hiking in the fall. The many hiking trails offer stunning views of the coastline, the plateaus, and the wonderfully green highlands.

6. Congaree. This South Caroline gem is considered the oldest floodplain forest in North America. It boasts of 75 species of trees and a variety of animals which can be viewed from just about anywhere in the park. It’s also one of the youngest, earning its place as a national park in 2003.

If checking out some of North America’s national parks sounds like the ticket this summer but crowds do not, you can’t go wrong with any of the above-named destinations. You’re likely to discover a whole new world (or world’s) you never knew existed.
